In 2006, InfoWizz was appointed to project manage a local content creation and management project for the IS & T Directorate's eGovernance Unit at the City Of Cape Town. This involves internally and externally focused knowledge and content management work in the following areas:
- Strategy development for knowledge management, content management and content creation for all eGovernance projects.
- Online content creation and management for the City Of Cape Town's Smart Cape Access sites. This is a citywide project, installing free Internet and email access into the public libraries. The first phase was the installation of the system, and was completed in 2005. The Smart Cape Access Project is the largest open source project in the Southern Hemisphere.
The objective of the second phase was to give these communities an online presence, and make their Internet experience more relevant and valuable to them. See http://www.smartcape.org.za/
This project is the first online local content creation project in South Africa.
